Music teaching resources

Music resources help primary students develop their ear, their voice and their understanding of how music is made — covering everything from basic rhythm and beat to simple composition and music appreciation.

The collection includes rhythm and beat activities, pitch and melody exercises, music listening tasks (describing and responding to music from different genres and cultures), singing resources, simple notation activities, and composition challenges where students create their own short pieces. Resources are designed to be accessible in a general primary classroom, not just specialist music lessons.

Music develops concentration, creativity and cultural awareness alongside specific musical skills. Suitable for Foundation through Year 6.
