Dance teaching resources

Dance resources help primary students explore movement as a creative and expressive art form — building physical skills, spatial awareness and an appreciation of dance from different cultures and traditions.

The collection includes fundamental movement activities (exploring space, dynamics, timing and body awareness), dance warm-ups and games, choreography tasks that guide students through creating simple dances, cultural dance exploration activities (including First Nations Australian dance forms), and performance and reflection prompts. Resources are designed to work in a regular classroom or hall, without specialist dance training.

Dance develops coordination, creativity and cultural understanding. Suitable for Foundation through Year 6.
