Months of the Year Activity
Engage learners with interactive activities to sort, order, and match the months of the year. Practice recognizing month names, arranging them in sequence, and matching clues to each month.
Highlights
- Sort and identify month names
- Arrange months in correct calendar order
- Match clues to the correct month
This resource offers a series of interactive activities designed to help learners recognize, sequence, and understand the months of the year. Students begin by sorting words to identify which are months and which are not, reinforcing their ability to recognize month names among other words.
Learners then practice putting the first six months, the last six months, and all twelve months in the correct chronological order. These ordering tasks help solidify understanding of the calendar sequence, supporting skills in describing the duration and sequence of events.
Additional activities include dragging and dropping month names into blank spaces to complete sequences, as well as matching clues—such as "Sixth month of the year" or "Month before September"—to the correct month. These exercises encourage active engagement and repeated practice, making them suitable for classroom or home learning environments.
This resource is particularly useful for reinforcing foundational calendar knowledge and supporting learners as they develop confidence in using and understanding the months of the year.
