Engage with interactive activities to sort, order, and match the months of the year. Learners practise recognising month names and arranging them in the correct sequence.

Highlights

  • Sort and identify month names
  • Order months in correct sequence
  • Match clues to month positions

This resource offers a series of interactive activities designed to help learners recognise, sequence, and understand the months of the year. The activities begin with sorting tasks, where learners classify words as either 'Months of the Year' or 'Not Months of the Year', supporting recognition of month names.

Learners then practise ordering the months, starting with the first six, then the last six, and finally arranging all twelve months from January to December. These ordering exercises reinforce the correct chronological sequence and help build familiarity with the calendar year.

Additional activities include 'drop in the blanks' questions, where learners drag and drop month names into blank spaces to complete sequences, and matching tasks that use clues such as 'Sixth month of the year' or 'Month before September' to pair each month with its correct position.

These activities are suitable for classroom or home use, providing practical opportunities for learners to check and consolidate their understanding of the months and their order in the year.
