Statistics and probability teaching resources

Statistics and probability resources develop primary students' ability to collect, organise, interpret and communicate data — and to think clearly about chance and likelihood.

The statistics side of the collection covers surveys and data collection, tally charts, tables and pictographs, bar graphs, line graphs and pie charts, and how to read and interpret information from displays. The probability side covers the language of chance (certain, likely, unlikely, impossible), simple probability experiments, and comparing predicted versus actual outcomes. Resources include data collection activities, graph-making tasks, probability experiments and real-world data analysis challenges.

Data literacy is increasingly important beyond the classroom. Suitable for Foundation through Year 6.
